Paediatric Nephrology

The Paediatric Nephrology service in UHW provides high level nephrology (kidney) care to children in south and mid Wales.  We provide both an outpatient and inpatient service, with transplant patients being referred to Bristol Children’s Hospital.  The service is based in the Children’s Kidney Centre and this is the site of the out-patient clinics and haemodialysis service.

We provide support and follow up to children who need renal replacement therapy (dialysis or transplantation).  The aim of the service is to deliver this care as close to the child’s home as possible and to this end there is a strong team providing an outreach service, alongside other clinics.
